Medical Research Supports Chiropractic Maintenance Care
Many studies generated by the medical profession in the last few years add evidence to support the importance of chiropractic maintenance care…
An article published in Spine concluded that “Chiropractic Adjustments are effective for the treatment of chronic non-specific lower back pain. To obtain long-term benefit, this study suggests maintenance spinal adjustments after the initial intensive period of care.”
Another study published in the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, provides additional support for the value of chiropractic maintenance care for post injury low back pain patients. This study followed almost 900 workers that were injured over a 1 year period. During this year the workers were put into 1 of 4 different treatment groups. Medical management, physical therapy, chiropractic and no therapy. Episodes of repeat injury or disability were recorded. Physical therapy had the highest percentage of works re injured followed by those receiving medical management or no treatment at all. The lowest incidence of repeat injury was found in the workers who had received chiropractic maintenance care.
