Should I go to a Chiropractor?
Have you ever wondered…Should I go to a chiropractor? Well then this article is for you! We will go over the different types of chiropractic care and how chiropractors provide care to help.
There are 3 main types of chiropractic care that are recommended for different types of people.
1. Relief care is provided for relief of immediate pain, restricted mobility and discomfort. Depending on the diagnosis, your age, physical condition, how long you have had the current complaint, and previous injuries, a few or several visits over a relatively short period of time may be necessary. Many people choose to stop attending the Chiropractor once their pain is gone and relief care is over. However most Chiropractors recommend that even though patients are no longer in pain they continue with maintenance care.
2. Maintenance care helps you maintain and preserve the benefits you’ve achieved from relief care so that you never get back to a state where you experience pain. Continuing to work with your chiropractor and having periodic spinal check-ups and treatments will prevent pain and keep your spine as healthy as possible. Your chiropractor will work with you to find a maintenance schedule that suits your condition, health care goals, and lifestyle.Usually people will continue with treatments about 1 every 2 weeks – 1 every 6 weeks.
3. Corrective care treats conditions that are more severe, recurring or that have existed for some time. In this type of care people who have Chronic conditions such as Arthritis, Multiple Sclerosis and Fibromyalgia are treated on an ongoing basis to keep there symptoms at bay. People who have very physical demanding jobs also receive corrective care in order to keep their aches and pains at bay so they can continue to work.
Your treatment from the chiropractor, regardless of the stage of care, will often include exercise, diet and other healthy living suggestions to help keep you healthy and strong.
